Terms of Use
Last updated: 19 April 2026. These Terms govern your access to and use of the Innovate Engineer website and any tools, templates, or paid services offered through it.
1. Who we are
Cast Iron CAD Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) is the operator of this Site and the contracting party for any paid service obtained through it. Cast Iron CAD Ltd is a private limited company registered in England & Wales under company number 07353071, registered office PlusX Innovation, Brighton, BN2 4GL. VAT registration GB310485531. Contact: hello@innovate.engineer.
“Innovate Engineer” is a trading brand operated by Cast Iron CAD Ltd. The brand name and domain are held by Innovate Engineer Ltd (company number 13687318, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ), a non-trading entity which has authorised Cast Iron CAD Ltd to operate the Site and provide services under the Innovate Engineer brand. All commercial agreements, payments, invoices, and data processing arising from your use of this Site are with Cast Iron CAD Ltd.
2. Business-to-business service
We provide services to businesses, founders, and professional engineers. The Site and its content are not intended for consumers as defined under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If you are a consumer (an individual acting for purposes wholly outside your trade, business, craft or profession), please contact us before engaging any paid service.
3. Permitted use
You may access, read, and download publicly available content on the Site for your own business use. You may not: (a) resell or commercially redistribute our content without written permission, (b) attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape at scale, or automate bulk access to the Site, (c) use the Site to transmit malicious code or conduct security testing without authorisation, (d) misrepresent your affiliation with Cast Iron CAD Ltd or the Innovate Engineer brand.
4. Intellectual property
All content on the Site – including the Viability Sprint framework, stage definitions, written guides, templates, diagrams, and methodology – is the intellectual property of Cast Iron CAD Ltd or its licensors, save for the “Innovate Engineer” name and associated marks which are held by Innovate Engineer Ltd and used under licence. You may quote short extracts with attribution for non-commercial and editorial use. All other reproduction requires written permission.
5. Free tools and templates
Where we provide free tools, templates, or written guidance through the Site, they are supplied “as is” for general information only. They are not a substitute for formal engineering advice, legal advice, or professional consultation on your specific project. You remain responsible for any decisions you take based on this material.
6. Paid services
Paid engagements (including the Viability Sprint, consulting, and end-to-end development projects) are entered into with Cast Iron CAD Ltd and governed by a separate written proposal or statement of work, which takes precedence over these Terms for matters within its scope.
7. Cancellation and cooling-off (consumers)
Although we primarily serve businesses (see section 2), if you are a consumer entering into a paid service at a distance you have the right to cancel within 14 calendar days of entering the contract, without giving any reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
To cancel, send a clear statement (email to hello@innovate.engineer) before the 14-day period expires. If you request that we begin work before the cooling-off period ends, you acknowledge that you will lose the right to cancel once the service has been fully performed. If you cancel after work has begun but before completion, you will pay a proportionate amount for the work carried out up to the point of cancellation.
8. VAT and pricing
Cast Iron CAD Ltd is VAT-registered (GB310485531). All prices published on the Site include VAT at the applicable rate. VAT invoices issued in the name of Cast Iron CAD Ltd are provided on request for paid services.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cast Iron CAD Ltd excludes all implied warranties. We do not limit or exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under English law. Subject to that, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Site and any free content will not exceed £1,000. Liability arising from paid engagements is capped at the fee paid for that engagement or £25,000, whichever is lower, unless a separate written agreement states otherwise. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or loss-of-profit damages.
10. Third-party sites and tools
The Site may link to third-party resources. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or security of third-party sites.
11. Data processing
Cast Iron CAD Ltd is the data controller for personal data collected through the Site (contact form submissions, Viability Sprint enquiries, analytics). Where Cast Iron CAD Ltd processes personal data on behalf of a client during a paid engagement, we act as a data processor under a data processing agreement (DPA) that forms part of the engagement contract. The DPA identifies sub-processors (including email hosting, analytics, and form infrastructure) and sets out technical and organisational measures. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle data collected via the Site itself, including our ICO registration details.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes (for example, a change of contracting entity or a change to the liability cap) will be flagged in the page header for at least 30 days following the update.
